When the thrilling moving picture, "The Roaring Road," was shown in Omaha, Nebraska, Guy L. Smith, Hudson and Essex representative, saw his opportunity and seized it. The central theme of the picture is the winning of the Santi Monica road race by a car called the "Darco." At the conclusion of the picture, Mr. Smith arranged to have two captions thrown on the screen. "Did you ever hear of a 'Darco' automobile?" the first asked, which was answered by the second which read: "Of course not, because there is no such car. It's a Hudson Super-Six." Then the curtain went up and the lights were turned on displaying the new Super-Sixes arranged in an attractive stage setting. In addition, Mr. Smith ran a two-page advertisement linking the Super-Six to the picture, the result being that the film ran for two weeks, twice its scheduled time, while the S.R.O. sign was displayed every day. "It was too good an opportunity to impress thousands of persons with the virtues of the Super-Six to overlook," he declared, "even if we are all sold out for the present." - Hudson Triangle Vol. 8 No. 35 from June 14, 1919.
